A Father In Heaven - The Sugar Daddy Lesson #Kidmin

The Main Point:

Sugar Daddy - A Father In Heaven

Lollipop's Fact Check:

The Object Lesson:

The Shapes

Memory Verse:

2 Corinthians 6:18 ESV

and I will be a father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to me, says the Lord Almighty.”
Bible Lesson:

Psalm 139 (A Father in Heaven, Our Maker Knows All About Us)

It can be a great comfort to know we have a father at home who loves us and will do all they can to make sure we have what we need. They protect us and they provide for us. More than all of this we have a father in Heaven. God the Father loves you. He wants the best for you and more than that He knows everything about you. He is your maker and Psalm 139 goes to great depths in showing this. Maybe you do not have an earthy father, or maybe yours has failed you in some way. The heavenly Father will never fail, nor forsake you. Even though he knows every bad thing you have every done, and may ever do... He still chooses to love you.

You are not a Whatchamachalit - The Whatchamachalit Lesson #Kidmin

The Main Point:
Whatchamachalit - Jacob wrestles changes name - You are not a Whatchamachalit

Lollipop's Fact Check:

The Object Lesson:

The Jacob Card Trick

Memory Verse:

The man asked him, “What is your name?” “Jacob,” he answered. Then the man said, “Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel, because you have struggled with God and with humans and have overcome.”
     -Genesis 32:27-28 (NIV)
Bible Lesson:

Genesis 32:22-32 (Jacob wrestles God and his name is changed)

We all know our names. We make like them... We may hate them. I even know people who use their middle name instead of their first, or they even go by a nickname instead of their actual name. Names can mean a bunch to us, but did you know God does not want you to be a Whatchamacallit! He wants you to have a name, something people will know you by. Often in the past peoples names meant who they were. Jacob, a liar. Esau, Hairy. What does your name mean? It may mean something awesome, or it could mean something you don't like. It does not matter though because God has a name which will fit perfectly with you, just like with Jacob's name changing to Israel. There may be a wrestling match to go through, but you will learn who you are in seeking God!

God gives Everlasting Life - The Everlasting Gobstopper Lesson #Kidmin

The Main Point:

Everlasting Gobstoper - Jesus Died For You - God gives Everlasting Life

Lollipop's Fact Check:

The Object Lesson:

The Money Bucket

Memory Verse:

For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.”
-John 6:40 (NIV)
Bible Lesson:

Death on a Cross With an Everlasting Gift (John 19)

Do you want to live forever? I am sure we all would say that we do! There is only one way to heaven and that is through the Son of God, Jesus Christ. His death upon a cross created the pathway for us to take in being able to get to to heaven. If it were up to us alone we all would deserve death and, as much as it sounds terrible...Hell. The good thing is that Jesus suffered for our sake. He died upon a cross as an innocent man in order to cleanse us all of our sins. Thank God for this sacrifice, because I am certain no one wanted the alternative.

Sometimes It is OK to Laugh - The Laffy Taffy Lesson #Kidmin

The Main Point:

Laffy Taffy - Sometimes It is OK to Laugh
Lollipop's Fact Check:

The Object Lesson:

The Funny Card Trick

Memory Verse:

And I commend joy, for man has no good thing under the sun but to eat and drink and be joyful, for this will go with him in his toil through the days of his life that God has given him under the sun.
-Ecclesiastes 8:15 ESV
Bible Lesson:

Isaac Is Born (Genesis 21)

When Isaac is finally born Sarah has another chance at joy. Before she took to laughing in doubt (remember the Snickers lesson) and it got her into a bit of trouble. This time she is overjoyed with the laugher and even has invited others to laugh with her. This is the joy we should have in our lives. A joy that invites others into it. We should want to bring laughter and joy to others, and of course Jesus as well.

Jesus and the Lollipop Drink - The Lollipop Lesson #Kidmin

The Main Point:

Lollipop - Jesus and The Lollipop Drink
Lollipop's Fact Check:

The Object Lesson:

The Funny Card Trick

Memory Verse:

Later, knowing that everything had now been finished, and so that Scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said, “I am thirsty.”
-John 19:28 (NIV)
Bible Lesson:

Matthew 27 - Jesus Refuses the Sour Wine Sponge, but accepts another

Matthew 27:33 - 34 (denies it)

Psalm 69:16 - 21 (fulfilling prophecy)

John 19:28 (takes it)

Prophecy is a hard thing to understand. What once was something said or written down is now something happening, or something that has happened - as in the case with Jesus. So much was predicted about who he would be, where he would come from, and even how he would die. One of the things was that he would be thirsty and get a drink. This happened when he was on the cross. He was given a drink by a sponge on a stick. This is almost like a lollipop! Wow. It is cool to know God wanted to be sure we knew who his son was. He made some specific prophecy that needed to take place.

No need to Snicker when in Doubt - The Snickers Lesson #Kidmin

The Main Point:

Snickers - Sarah Laughs (doubt) - No need to Snicker when in Doubt

Lollipop's Fact Check:

The Object Lesson:

The Finding of Isaac

Memory Verse:

James 1:6

New International Version (NIV)
But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.
Bible Lesson:

Story of Abraham and Sarah and the doubtful laugh (Genesis 16-17)

Abram was promised by God to have so many descendants that they would not even be able to count them. As numerous as the stars, but there was one little problem. Abram had no children. As him and his wife Sarai worried over this they tried various ways to MAKE God's plan happen, but that only really ever caused problems. Finally, right before God fulfilled the promise he came and changed their names. He told them Sarah would have a child, but both Abraham and Sarah laughed, or snickered, when hearing this. Abraham was 100 and Sarah was over 90. They were WAY to old for kids. Right? Nope. When God has a plan and a promise, he fulfills it EVERY time. We shouldn't snicker in doubt at the promises of God. Trust in HIM!

Break Me Off a Piece of That Communion - The Kit Kat Lesson #Kidmin

The Main Point:

Kit Kat - The Last Supper - Break Me Off a Piece of That Communion

The Object Lesson:

Taking Communion

We did not film this. We took a moment of the lesson time to actually have the children partake, if at least symbolically in communion. You have to at least see it done, or do it yourself to begin to understand it!

Memory Verse:

John 6:54

New International Version (NIV)
Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.
Bible Lesson:

The Last Supper - Mark 14, Matt 26, Luke 22

1 Cor. 11:24

Do this in remembrance of Jesus

The Last Supper occurs at the time of Passover. This was a time the Nation of Israel was to remind their children of the hardships they faced under the slavery in Egypt. They were to be reminded of this and teach their children 'in remembrance'. While the ordinance has changed slightly we do it for the same reason. We eat of the bread and drink of the fruit of the vine in order to have a time to remember the hardship we were under when slaves to sin. Jesus was and is still our freedom from that. His body was broken for us.
