Sometimes It is OK to Laugh - The Laffy Taffy Lesson #Kidmin

The Main Point:

Laffy Taffy - Sometimes It is OK to Laugh
Lollipop's Fact Check:

The Object Lesson:

The Funny Card Trick

Memory Verse:

And I commend joy, for man has no good thing under the sun but to eat and drink and be joyful, for this will go with him in his toil through the days of his life that God has given him under the sun.
-Ecclesiastes 8:15 ESV
Bible Lesson:

Isaac Is Born (Genesis 21)

When Isaac is finally born Sarah has another chance at joy. Before she took to laughing in doubt (remember the Snickers lesson) and it got her into a bit of trouble. This time she is overjoyed with the laugher and even has invited others to laugh with her. This is the joy we should have in our lives. A joy that invites others into it. We should want to bring laughter and joy to others, and of course Jesus as well.

Jesus and the Lollipop Drink - The Lollipop Lesson #Kidmin

The Main Point:

Lollipop - Jesus and The Lollipop Drink
Lollipop's Fact Check:

The Object Lesson:

The Funny Card Trick

Memory Verse:

Later, knowing that everything had now been finished, and so that Scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said, “I am thirsty.”
-John 19:28 (NIV)
Bible Lesson:

Matthew 27 - Jesus Refuses the Sour Wine Sponge, but accepts another

Matthew 27:33 - 34 (denies it)

Psalm 69:16 - 21 (fulfilling prophecy)

John 19:28 (takes it)

Prophecy is a hard thing to understand. What once was something said or written down is now something happening, or something that has happened - as in the case with Jesus. So much was predicted about who he would be, where he would come from, and even how he would die. One of the things was that he would be thirsty and get a drink. This happened when he was on the cross. He was given a drink by a sponge on a stick. This is almost like a lollipop! Wow. It is cool to know God wanted to be sure we knew who his son was. He made some specific prophecy that needed to take place.

No need to Snicker when in Doubt - The Snickers Lesson #Kidmin

The Main Point:

Snickers - Sarah Laughs (doubt) - No need to Snicker when in Doubt

Lollipop's Fact Check:

The Object Lesson:

The Finding of Isaac

Memory Verse:

James 1:6

New International Version (NIV)
But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.
Bible Lesson:

Story of Abraham and Sarah and the doubtful laugh (Genesis 16-17)

Abram was promised by God to have so many descendants that they would not even be able to count them. As numerous as the stars, but there was one little problem. Abram had no children. As him and his wife Sarai worried over this they tried various ways to MAKE God's plan happen, but that only really ever caused problems. Finally, right before God fulfilled the promise he came and changed their names. He told them Sarah would have a child, but both Abraham and Sarah laughed, or snickered, when hearing this. Abraham was 100 and Sarah was over 90. They were WAY to old for kids. Right? Nope. When God has a plan and a promise, he fulfills it EVERY time. We shouldn't snicker in doubt at the promises of God. Trust in HIM!

Break Me Off a Piece of That Communion - The Kit Kat Lesson #Kidmin

The Main Point:

Kit Kat - The Last Supper - Break Me Off a Piece of That Communion

The Object Lesson:

Taking Communion

We did not film this. We took a moment of the lesson time to actually have the children partake, if at least symbolically in communion. You have to at least see it done, or do it yourself to begin to understand it!

Memory Verse:

John 6:54

New International Version (NIV)
Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.
Bible Lesson:

The Last Supper - Mark 14, Matt 26, Luke 22

1 Cor. 11:24

Do this in remembrance of Jesus

The Last Supper occurs at the time of Passover. This was a time the Nation of Israel was to remind their children of the hardships they faced under the slavery in Egypt. They were to be reminded of this and teach their children 'in remembrance'. While the ordinance has changed slightly we do it for the same reason. We eat of the bread and drink of the fruit of the vine in order to have a time to remember the hardship we were under when slaves to sin. Jesus was and is still our freedom from that. His body was broken for us.

Staying on Milk Makes You a Dud - The Milk Dud Lesson #Kidmin

The Main Point:

Milk Duds - Spiritual Milk To Spiritual Meat (Staying on Milk Makes You a Dud)

The Object Lesson:

The Spiritual Milk

Memory Verse:

1 Peter 2:2-3

New International Version (NIV)

Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.
Bible Lesson:

Samuel is weaned before being given fully to the Lord (1 Samuel 1)

Samuel was born to his mother Hannah after a hardship of not having children. The promise was to give Samuel to the Lord. After Samuel was born Hannah waited until Samuel was weaned, which means he was no longer drinking milk as a baby any longer. As the story continues we see Samuel learn to also understand when he was hearing the voice of God. We all must grow in our walks with Christ. We are like babies when first saved and know nothing. The time for milk is important when we start, but at some point we should move on from it and return ourselves fully to the Lord and his will.

Doing Work Pays off, Being Lazy Does Not - The Payday Lesson #Kidmin

The Main Point:

Pay Day - Doing Work Pays off - Being Lazy Does Not

The Object Lesson:

The Payday

Memory Verse:

Proverbs 14:23
New International Version (NIV)
All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty.
Bible Lesson:

Parable of talents (Matthew 25)

In the parable of the talents we see an interesting example of how we should be smart with the gifts given to us by God. If those gifts are money or the talents we have within ourselves, it is just as important to use them for the Kingdom of God. This also applies to our lives. Being lazy will not get you anywhere, even if it is just fear that kept you from doing the work - you will end up losing even what you were given if you cannot just step up and do even the simplest thing. We need to try and be smart about the choices in our lives. Work hard and you will end up with a Payday. It may not be loads and loads of money, but there are things better than money.

The Twick is Teamwork - The Twix Lesson #Kidmin

The Main Point:

Twix - The Twick is teamwork

The Object Lesson:

The Invisible Chairs

Memory Verse:

Matthew 18:20
New International Version (NIV)
For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”
Bible Lesson:

Jesus sent them out two by two (Mark 6)

When Jesus sent out the disciples to spread the message of the Gospel, He was sure to not have them travel alone. He wants the same for us now. While we certainly do great work for God on our own, when we have someone who can lift us up when we are down - we don't stay down long. Find a friend who has a similar drive as you for Christ and work together to do something great for the Kingdom!

Parable of The Sower - The Jelly Bean Lesson #Kidmin

The Main Point:

Jelly Beans - Parable of The Sower

The Object Lesson:

The Tiny Heroes

Memory Verse:

Galatians 6:7
New International Version (NIV)
Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows

Bible Lesson:

Parable of the sower - Matthew 13

In the Parable of the sower we see a sower doing his job of planting seeds. We also learn about each type of place the seeds land. How they grow or don't grow as well as why. The parable has the sower doing his job exactly as he should, but shows how the growing part is what is important. Tiny seeds of God's word can grow in us a faith that is unshakable if we let them. Be sure you are letting the seeds of God's word get into the GOOD SOIL of yourself. If you are not seeing growth - something is wrong.

God Helps BREAK The Battle - The Jawbreaker Lesson #Kidmin

The Main Point:

Jawbreaker - God Helps Break The Battle

The Object Lesson:

The Power of the Egg

Memory Verse:

Isaiah 40:29

English Standard Version (ESV)

He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength.
Bible Lesson:

Samson and the battle with the Donkeys Jawbone (Judges 15)

Samson was given a crazy amount of strength by God. He also had to follow some certain rules in his life to have his strength stay with him. Once he even used the jawbone of a donkey to fight and beat 1,000 men. So much of what Samson did seems impossible, but the truth is that if we keep doing what God calls us to do He will bring us through all the battles we face as well.
