The Main Point:
Now and Later - The Day of Salvation is NOW
The Object Lesson:
The Salvation Choice
Bible Lesson:2 Corinthians 6:2English Standard Version (ESV)For he says,“In a favorable time I listened to you,and in a day of salvation I have helped you.”Behold, now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation.
The Rich King and Lazarus the beggar (Luke 16:19-31)
In this story we learn of a rich man who had all one could ask for in life, and also of a beggar who lived at the rich man's gates who could only hope for even just the crumbs from the rich man's table. They both died and the Rich man begs for comfort and more importantly he begs for a warning to be given to his brothers about what their choices can gain them after they die.
We do not have a luxury of Now and Later when it comes to salvation and we see this as we read this story as well as the memory verse (2 Cor. 6:2) and must understand we have to slow down and evaluate NOW when it comes to salvation!
